Heather Miller, PhD, has worked in human research protections since 2008 and is curently working as an IRB Coordination Manager at Stanford University. She has been facilitating IRB’s 100% remotely since 2014. She is passionate about training and educating researchers to protect the privacy, safety, and well-being of human subjects. Most recently, Heather has been working with individuals and universities in providing best practices for working with American Indians and Alaska Natives in research. Heather has worked with leaders from the Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund and the Online Writing Centers Association to help train researchers to create accessible recruitment and consent documents for research participants. Heather has experience facilitating end-to-end processes to create fully online IRB offices that provide systematic training, education, and writing services for novice student researchers. When she isn't reviewing protocols and working with universites on best practices for SBER studies, you'll find her walking her 3 dogs and attempting to make the perfect poached egg for breakfast.
