Sean Cahill, PhD, is the director of health policy research at the Fenway Institute in Boston, MA, and an affiliate associate clinical professor in the Department of Health Sciences at the Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University. Dr. Cahill is a member of the Massachusetts Special Legislative Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Aging, and served on the Massachusetts LGBT Youth Commission from 2012 to 2016. Dr. Cahill recently published research conducted with members of the New York City House and Ball Community (a predominantly Black LGBT culture) on healthcare experiences, and he also published on medical mistrust and attitudes toward pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV prevention among Black gay and bisexual men in Jackson, MS, and mostly White gay and bisexual men in Boston, MA. He is co-investigator on a research project funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Division of Adolescent and School Health to improve access to HIV prevention and screening among adolescent males attracted to other males and transgender youth. He was co-investigator on a National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities-funded research project with LGBT youth of color in Boston, MA, from 2012 to 2015. Dr. Cahill is author or coauthor of three books on LGBT policy, and many peer-reviewed articles, chapters, and monographs on LGBT health and HIV.
