Dr Caroline Zeiss is a Professor of Comparative Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine. She is a comparative pathologist who is double-board certified in anatomic pathology and laboratory animal medicine. She collaborates on multiple studies with Yale and external investigators in academia and industry, with a strong focus on disease mechanisms and translation of basic studies towards clinical relevance. She is Chief of the Pathology Unit in the Section of Comparative Medicine. Additionally, she runs an independently supported research lab with a strong focus in aging, mechanisms of neurodegeneration, and translational approaches to animal research. More recently her research is focused is focused on translational neuroscience, especially Alzheimers and Parkinsons diseases, with recent ventures into COVID research in rodents and ARDS research in pigs.
