Beth Irwin (MA, CIP) is a Senior IRB Analyst on the Social Behavioral team with Northwestern University’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) Office. She has served on the IRB for 5+ years, providing autonomous review of exempt and expedited applications, coordinates Social Behavioral IRB Board meetings, and greatly enjoys delivering training opportunities throughout NU’s HRPP.
Much of Beth’s career has focused on providing support for youth in her community, including experiences prior to NU working as a resident counselor in a juvenile detention facility, high school Psychology & Sociology teacher (plus drama club coach on the side), and mental health provider specializing in child/adolescent assessment and intervention.
Beth earned her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University, Teaching Certification from the University of Iowa, and Bachelors from Cornell College. During the random moments in life when she is given time to relax, she enjoys cooking for her family, camping, reading fiction books, and planning vacations.
