Ada Sue Selwitz, MA, assists the University of Kentucky in developing institutional policies pertaining to a variety of compliance issues, such as protection of human subjects and scientific misconduct. Currently, she is the executive integrity/compliance advisor for the Office of the Vice President for Research, adjunct associate professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences in the College of Medicine, and associate director of regulatory support of the NIH-funded Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences. Ms. Selwitz has co-authored publications and given over 270 national/state presentations. She has been involved in extramurally funded research projects funded by the NIH, the Scientist Center on Animal Welfare, and the National Science Foundation. She has been the recipient of several national awards, including the Society of Research Administrators Excellence Award, the Applied Research Ethics National Association (ARENA) Distinguished Service Award, the ARENA Appreciation Award, National Council of University Administrators Outstanding Achievement in Research Administration Award, and PRIM&R’s ARENA Legacy Award. Ms. Selwitz served on PRIM&R’s Board of Directors , and is now a Distinguished Leader of PRIM&R. Ms. Selwitz served on HHS’s Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Human Research Protection, the NIH Regulatory Burden Committee, and the CITI Executive Advisory Board.
