Ann Hardy, DrPH, CIP, is an epidemiologist with expertise in infectious diseases, health survey methods, and human subjects research compliance. She started her federal career at CDC working on HIV/AIDS and then served in various leadership roles at CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics. Ann finished her federal career at NIH, where she managed the peer review of biostatics and epidemiology grant applications and subsequently led the NIH Extramural Human Research Protections Program. In this latter role, she developed policies to ensure compliance of NIH-funded human subjects research, created training programs for NIH staff and extramural investigators, and directed the NIH Certificates of Confidentiality program. She is a Certified IRB Professional (CIP) and currently serves as a member on an IRB at the George Washington University. Since leaving federal service, Ann has remained active in human subjects research training including management of Learn eCORE, a company she co-founded to provide online training on human subjects protection and investigator conflict of interest.
