Diana Gordon graduated from Linfield College with a BA in biology, subsequently earning an MAT from Lewis and Clark College (1993) and an MPH from Portland State University (2014). She taught Biology at St. Mary’s Academy in Portland, Oregon, from 1993 to 2000. In 2001 she joined the Tech Support team at Vernier Software & Technology as a biology specialist, leaving that position in 2004 to assume the position she currently holds – Education and Outreach Coordinator at the Oregon National Primate Research Center. In this capacity, she oversees the Center’s popular tour program, as well as a number of programs aimed at providing opportunities for community members to learn about biomedical research (why it is conducted, how it is conducted, how it is regulated) as well as extracurricular hands-on science opportunities for students of all ages. Diana has been honored for her work as an educator with the National Association of Biology Teachers “Outstanding Biology Teacher of the Year Award,” with Saturday Academy’s “Creativity in Education Award,” and with the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce’s “Crystal Apple Award.”
