This session will describe how the DoD HRPP evolved from the 1940's through current innovations during Operation Warp Speed in its crusade against COVID-19. This session will also include how the current DoD HRPP and its Component Offices for Human Research Protections engage with internal and external investigators and other research protections personnel. Learning Objectives:

  • Review the history of the DoD HRPP alongside how federal regulations governing research participant protections were developed
  • Understand how the DoD research program directs non-military science and technologies
  • Learn how to engage DoD HRPPs for the purposes of prospective research
